Every car comes with a warranty, included as standard
When you buy a car from GT Automotive, it comes with a 6-month warranty as standard, included in the price at no extra cost. If you’d like longer cover, you can extend it to 12 months.
What makes ours different is that we provide and run the warranty ourselves. We’re not passing you off to a third party. When something covered goes wrong, you deal with us directly, the same people who sold you the car.
What it covers
The warranty covers the sudden mechanical and electrical failure of the major components that keep your car running, things like the engine, gearbox, clutch, fuel system, cooling system and the electrical parts that go with them. Whether your car is petrol, diesel, hybrid or electric, there’s a plan written specifically for that type of vehicle, so the cover fits how your car actually works.
It’s designed to protect you against the unexpected failures that cost real money, not the everyday servicing and wear that comes with running any car.
What it doesn’t cover
We believe in being straight about this. Like any warranty, ours doesn’t cover:
- Normal wear and tear, or parts that have simply reached the end of their life
- Routine service items: oils, filters, brake pads and discs, tyres, wiper blades, bulbs and the like
- Damage from accidents, misuse, or failing to service the car properly
- Anything already covered by a manufacturer’s warranty or recall
A full list of what’s included and excluded is set out in your personalised policy document.
A couple of things worth knowing
There’s a mileage limit. The 6-month plan covers up to 5,000 miles, and the 12-month plan up to 10,000 miles. Cover runs until either the time or the mileage is reached, whichever comes first, so it’s worth bearing in mind if you cover a lot of miles.
Keep up with servicing. To keep your cover valid, the car needs to be serviced on schedule in line with the manufacturer’s recommendations. Keep your service invoices safe, the same as you would with any used car.
Eligibility. The plan applies to vehicles under 10 years old and below 80,000 miles at the start of cover, within the UK.
Your full terms
Every car gets its own warranty document, written for that specific vehicle, setting out exactly what’s covered, the cover period, and how to make a claim. You’ll receive yours when you take ownership, and our team is always happy to talk you through it before you buy.
And your statutory rights
Your warranty is in addition to your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. It doesn’t replace or reduce them. If you’d like to know more about what’s covered for your particular car, just ask the team.
